Local Wellness Policy Toolkit

Congress passed Section 204 of PL 108-265 of the Child Nutrition and WIC Reauthorization Act of 2004 requiring local education agencies to develop a local wellness policy that addresses the growing problem of childhood obesity.

The policy was required to be developed by July 1, 2006. Multiple resources for schools to use for developing local wellness policies can be located below in the Resource Section.
