This office oversees the implementation of the NH Code of Administrative Rules Chapter Ed 400, Approval of Nonpublic Schools. Additionally we provide technical assistance to nonpublic schools and information to the public regarding nonpublic schools in New Hampshire and related New Hampshire laws (RSAs).

Nonpublic School Advisory Council (NPSAC) The Nonpublic School Advisory Council is established under Ed400 to perform duties assigned by the State Board of Education related to nonpublic schools, to help maintain effective communications between the Department of Education and nonpublic schools, and to raise issues of concern to nonpublic schools in the state. The Council consists of 21 members, 17 are appointed by the Commissioner of Education, 3 by the Commissioner of Health and Human Services and 1 by the State Fire Marshal.
