The New Hampshire Extended Learning Opportunities Project, The Nellie Mae Education Foundation, and the Center for Secondary School Redesign would like to thank everyone who participated in the New England Regional Showcase for Personalization and Performance in Concord, NH on November 15th.High schools from the New England region shared strategies based on a successful record of commitment to student personalization, authentic assessment practices and community engagement.
Our purpose is to provide educators throughout New England the opportunity to learn from successful high schools and perhaps avoid some unnecessary barriers to implementation. This highly personalized professional development opportunity enabled participants to learn more about personalized learning programs, extended learning opportunities (ELOs) strategies/obstacles and the impact that these school wide efforts have had on changing the culture of the school and community. Showcase sessions focused on, but not limited to, education best practice methodologies around ELOs, competencies, effective advisory programs, exhibitions, freshman academies, senior projects, independent student credits "outside school" and pathway school/performance assessment.
