Certification/Credentialing

The NH Department of Education, Credentialing administers established rules to evaluate the applications of candidates for an educator credential. Recommended by the NH Professional Standards Board and approved by the State Board of Education, these rules govern educator credentialing. All professionals employed in NH public schools must possess the appropriate credential for an assignment if required. Credentialing is responsible for the certification and recertification of all educators from Superintendents through paraeducators. We are also responsible for the investigation of educators involved in acts of misconduct.

Please note - In most cases, your application will be reviewed in the order in which it was received. The initial review process can take on average 60 days. We will contact you via email once that initial review is complete.

Processing calls or emails requesting status updates slows down our initial review process.

You can check the status of your application at myNHDOE EIS/Educator/View Your Credentials.

As of 3/1/2019, Credentialing no longer mails letters regarding application processing. A status of deficient in myNHDOE/EIS/Educator/View Your Credentails after this date means that your application has been reviewed and requirements still need to be met. Within 3 business days an email will be sent and the letter will be uploaded to your Documents. Letters prior to this date were mailed via USPS and are not availabe for viewing in your account.

As of 11/15/2018, Credentialing will no longer accept the following documents via mail or email: Experience Letters, GED/HiSET, Industry Credentials, National Licenses, Official Transcripts, Out of State Educator Credentials, Professional Licenses, Program Verifications, Reference Letters, Renewal Audit documents, Résumés, and Test Score Reports. Please log into myNHDOE to upload these documents directly into your Educator Information System account.
