Dynamic Learning Maps (DLM) Alternate Assessment Consortium

The Dynamic Learning Maps (DLM) Alternate Assessment System is an instructionally relevant system that supports student learning and measures what students with significant cognitive disabilities know and can do. The DLM Essential Elements are used to support the design of individualized experiences for each student by presenting questions and tasks that are appropriate for a student’s needs and abilities.

New Hampshire provides the Dynamic Learning Maps (DLM) alternate assessments to students in English language arts, mathematics and science.

  • All of the alternate assessments (ELA, mathematics and science) will be summative assessments
  • Alternate assessment portfolios in science are no longer required as part of the statewide assessment
  • Students in grades 3-8 and 11 will be assessed in English language arts and mathematics
  • Students in grades 5, 8 and 11 will be assessed in science
