iSocial State Personnel Development Grant Accepting Applications for Community Collaboratives

The State Personnel Development Grant (SPDG) funded by the Office of Special Education Programs (OSEP) that is providing professional development training and coaching on the Pyramid Model for Supporting Social Emotional Competence in Infants and Young Children. The purpose of the SPDG is to improve social-emotional outcomes of children ages birth to five with disabilities through the implementation of the evidence-based Pyramid Model Framework in local communities. The SPDG is part of the iSocial system being developed to scale-up and sustain this work.

The New Hampshire Department of Education (NHDOE) is looking for community collaboratives to implement the Pyramid Model. Community Collaboratives could be an existing community team or a newly established partnership. Additional information can be found in the iSocial Community Collaborative Application Packet.

An online Information Session will be held via ZOOM on May 2, 2018 from 1:00pm-2:00pm. This session will guide you through the application as well as answer any questions that may arise. If you have specific questions that you'd like addressed during the informational session, please submit them in advance and we well be sure to address them in the session. There will also be an opportunity to ask additional questions during the session.

New Hampshire has a long history of providing a free, appropriate public education to children with disabilities,
ages 3-5. By federal and state law, local school districts must work with families and community partners to find, identify and serve children who are eligible for special education and related services so that services can begin by the child's third birthday. An Individualized Education Program is developed for each eligible child based on that child’s strengths and needs. Placements may include the child’s home, local private or public preschool/kindergartens, or Head Start programs. Sometimes, the placement is in a special education program or even in a separate approved special education program or residential facility.
