Thirteen Professionals to be Credentialed in Early Childhood and Family Mental Health

The Office of Student Wellness is pleased to announce that 13 professionals from the fields of education, community mental health, and early childhood programs have begun the process of receiving the Early Childhood and Family Mental Health Credential (ECFMHC).

The ECFMHC is a credential that validates experience, commitment and competence in the fields of Early Childhood and Mental Health and is jointly endorsed by the NH Association of Infant Mental Health and the Child Development Bureau of NH Health and Human Services.

“We are excited to be able to support these professionals in their work with the children of the Granite State,” commented Mary Steady, Administrator of the Office of Student Wellness. “We know that issues of mental and behavioral health have a direct impact on a student’s ability to be present in the classroom and to engage in real, meaningful learning. Ensuring that professionals in the field have the skills they need to address these issues is the first step in student-centered learning.”

The Office of Student Wellness works in collaboration with local communities, school districts, and individuals, to support students as they become fully productive members of society. Efforts are focused on several key areas including: early childhood social and emotional learning and development, prevention, safety, and support for mental, emotional, and behavioral Health.
