Bureau of Student Wellness Information & Listening Session

The Bureau of Student Wellness at the New Hampshire Department of Education hosted an information and listening session for members of the public and Legislature on Jan. 7, 2019. The intent of the session was to provide an overview about the bureau’s activities in support of student wellness in the Granite State as well as answer questions about the approach, supported programs, and what these efforts mean for students and families.

Some of the topics covered included: What is Student Wellness?; the state’s Multi-Tiered System of Support for Behavioral Health and Wellness (MTSS-B); The role of Social-Emotional Learning; Supporting roles: the NH DOE and local districts; Evaluating Success; and Boots on the Ground: The local view, with a roundtable featuring educators from Laconia and Merrimack.

Eight condensed/edited video segments of the presentation, featuring Kelly Untiet, the communications coordinator for the bureau, as well as other guests, are posted on the NH DOE’s YouTube channel here.

The Bureau of Student Wellness is committed to the development of the whole child. It works, in collaboration with local communities, school districts, and individuals, to support students as they become fully productive members of society.
