Parents' back to school survey closes Friday

All NH residents can give input next week

CONCORD - The Department of Education's survey to gather input for the School Transition, Reopening, and Redesign Taskforce (STRRT) closes Friday. The work of the task force is to provide recommendations to the Governor, the Department of Education, and local school districts about the return to school in September. The survey is open until Friday, May 29, 2020 at 8pm.

To date, more than 41,000 New Hampshire parents and educators have completed the survey.

"We are really pleased with the overwhelming response that we have received from parents and educators to the survey and we hope that even more people will take advantage of this opportunity to weigh in on our return to school,” stated Education Commissioner Frank Edelblut.

Because of the overwhelming response, the Department is pushing the STRRT work-schedule by one week.

“With this overwhelming number of responses, it is important that we take the needed time to effectively analyze the underlying data so that workgroups can really understand the feedback,” Edelblut said.

In addition, the Department has received feedback from New Hampshire residents not included in the original survey who wish to provide input to STRRT on the return to school. A separate survey will be released next week to gather input from any New Hampshire resident wishing to share their views.

Parents and educators may access the survey at www.education.nh.gov/survey2020 until Friday at 8pm.
