School Safety and Facility Management Bureau

This bureau has the responsibility of managing the school facility approval process for public schools. The school facility approval includes a facility inspection to ensure the school has completed their fire and health inspections as well as to verify the school facility is being operated in a clean, healthy, and safe manner. Additionally, the bureau monitors and provides technical assistance to public and nonpublic school administrators and other state and local agencies.

This Bureau provides leadership, technical assistance, and resources to school administrators, school business officials, facility managers, school boards, building committees, architects, and the general public with regard to school building aid and any other school facility grants. This Bureau collects, processes, and approves sufficient information on educational specifications, plans, technical specifications, costs, site considerations, and financing methodologies to evaluate proposed school constructions projects in order to determine approval for State Building Aid under RSA 198:15 and to maintain records.
