NH's Report Card

Granite State continues to outperform other states despite nationwide decline

CONCORD – The New Hampshire Department of Education today published NH's Report Card: 2019 NAEP Results in Math and Reading. This ten-page report includes the just-released results of the National Assessment of Education Progress (NAEP), the largest continuing and national representative assessment of American students, known as America's Report Card. This year's results show declines in student proficiency, both in New Hampshire and nationwide, in reading and math.

"While New Hampshire remains one of the top-performing states in the country, our report card reads 'Needs Improvement' in both math and reading," said Education Commissioner Frank Edelblut. "The status quo works for some students, but not all."

NH's Report Card includes national and statewide NAEP results in 4^th Grade and 8^th Grade math and reading going back to 2003, as well New Hampshire state assessment results from 3^rd-8^th and 11^th Grade.
