School Building Aid
School building aid funds support the construction of new public schools or the substantial renovation of existing schools, according to the legal guidelines established under RSA 198:15. NH school districts may apply for building aid grants each biennium. All applications are reviewed and ranked. Building aid grant awards are based upon the ranking of the school district's building aid application and the availability of State and local funding.
Important Updates and Notices
- The legislature recently passed HB452 which makes changes to the School Building Aid process and timeline. Prior to the bill’s passing, Building Aid was awarded every other year corresponding with the State’s biennium budget. HB452 changes Building Aid to an annual process beginning in FY26, applications for which will be due April 1, 2025. More information about the new processes and procedures will be available in the Fall.
